It considers both downside upside potential of portfolio with respect a predetermined threshold, which can be fixed or time varying. Mixed results have obtained different markets periods. And when combined other risk measures, its improved. The proposed model restricts omega value less than 470, maximum each asset 15%, target annual return equal Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) among assets that make up index. In study period (2000-2020, rolling window per day) there is 64% probability outperforming DJIA an appraisal 2.36, higher models (Upside potential, Downside semi-variance unconstrained Omega).</p></div></div></div></div>

Kelly's Criterion in Portfolio Optimization: A Decoupled Problem
Kelly's Criterion is well known among gamblers and investors as a method for maximizing the returns one would expect to observe over long periods of betting or investing. These ideas are conspicuously absent from portfolio optimization problems in the financial and automation literature. This paper will show how Kelly's Criterion can be incorporated into standard portfolio optimization models. ...

متن کاملA Robust Knapsack Based Constrained Portfolio Optimization
Many portfolio optimization problems deal with allocation of assets which carry a relatively high market price. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the integer value of assets when we deal with portfolio optimization. In addition, one of the main concerns with most portfolio optimization is associated with the type of constraints considered in different models. In many cases, the resulted p...
متن کاملOverviewing the transition of Markowitz bi-criterion portfolio selection to tri-criterion portfolio selection
Over sixty years ago, Markowitz introduced the mean-variance efficient frontier to finance. While mean-variance is still the predominant model in portfolio selection, it has endured many criticisms. One serious one is that it does not allow for additional criteria. The difficulty is that the efficient frontier becomes a surface. With it now possible to compute such a surface, we provide an over...
متن کاملA Bayesian information criterion for portfolio selection
The mean-variance theory of Markowitz (1952) indicates that large investment portfolios naturally provide better risk diversification than small ones. However, due to parameter estimation errors, one may find ambiguous results in practice. Hence, it is essential to identify relevant stocks to alleviate the impact of estimation error in portfolio selection. To this end, we propose a linkage cond...
